Henan Province Space-Time Big Data Industry Technology Research Institute
In order to implement the strategic deployment of the Nineteenth Party Congress on the development of a digital economy and the construction of a digital China, support the construction of the National Comprehensive Data Pilot Zone of Henan Province and guide the technological innovation, commercial innovation, and theoretical innovation in the space-time big data field.Henan University took the lead in establishing the Henan Province Space-Time Big Data Industry Technology Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the “Research Institute”)approved by the Henan development and reform commission.
The institute brought together a first-class team of more than 120 people with academicians at the core, including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and more than 30 professors. Wang Jiayao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, served as Dean, and Liu Xian, Vice President of Henan University served as Executive Deputy Dean.

The institute will pay attention to research and development in space and time big data management technology, big data analysis and excavation, processing and application, as well as big data development strategy and consulting, and provide think tanks, theory, technology industry and talent support for the development of big data industry in Henan Province.
The institute integrates the research of big data theory and product research and development. It adheres to the combination of “government, industries, schools, research institutes, and users, and focuses on research in space-time big data theory, analysis and mining of space-time big data, visualization of space-time big data, remote data processing and application, and in space-time and development strategies and consulting of big data, etc.It provideswhole industry chain services of space-time big data platforms, space-time big data resources, space-time big data sensors, remote sensing satellite production and data reception processing and applications, 3D printing equipment and product development, etc. The institute provides space-time big data services for digital China, smart cities, smart agriculture, smart environmental protection, emergency management, talent training, and government decision-making.
The overall goal of the institute's construction is to build a technological innovation platform for the space-time big data industry and to be leader both at home and abroad, gather and integrate innovation resources, strengthen the combination of government, industries, schools, research institutes and users, so as to provides think tanks, theory, technology, products and talent support for the construction of the National Big Data Experimental Area and the development of big data industry in Henan Province.
The specific construction goals are as follows:
——Focus on the construction of space-time big data platforms, smart cities, and e-government, researching and exploring the theoretical systems required for the construction and application of space-time big data in smart regions and smart industries.
——Study key technologies on the construction and application of space-time big data to improve the construction and application technology system of space-time big data.
——Enriching and improving the system of space-time big data products, and provides timely and accurate time-space data and decision support services for the development of the national economy and the industry.
——Proposing plans for the development of space-time big data in Henan Province, and plans for the construction of smart regions and smart industries in Henan Province to form a set of space-time big data deployment models, construction models, operating models, and service models for smart applications.
