(1)Goals for Training
The kinds of high-quality talents should be cultivated as the all-round development in morality, intelligence and physique; master the basic knowledge, fundamental theories and skills of human geography and urban-rural planning; possess abilities to discover problems; analyze problems creatively and solve problems; possess abilities of professional learning, interpersonal communication and social adaptation; could be competent to urban-rural construction and regional economic social-economic development in administrative machinery, public institution, institution for higher learning and research institution.
(2)Requirements for Training
Students in this major mainly study the fundamental theories and basic skills of geography and urban-rural planning, accept the scientific thinking of geography, urban-rural planning and relevant skills, and master the collection, analysis and application of regional social economic, resource and environmental information. Basic abilities to carry out regional and urban-rural development planning, solid professional foundation, generous humanistic qualities and full of innovative spirit are all necessary.
Graduates should acquire the knowledge, abilities, and qualities of the following aspects: 1. Comprehensively master the basic theories, methods, knowledge, and skills of geography, especially human geography, urban-rural planning, with generous humanities and scientific literacy, and have a sound personality and physical and mental health; 2. Master basic knowledge and skills in remote sensing, geographic information systems, planning and mapping, and social surveys. It has comprehensive application capabilities for socio-economic information collection, analysis and expression. It is capable of conducting research on regional socio-economic and urban-rural development planning. Compilation of basic competencies; 3. Make yourself master of a foreign language to achieve a specified level; abilities to search and read books; ability to use modern information technology for extended learning; 4, Master project design, data research, papers, and research reports The basic rules are written with the ability to conduct preliminary academic research and communication with a global perspective.
2. Academic System and Degree
(1) Implement flexible schooling. The basic system of this major is 4 years. Students can complete their studies within 3-7 years.
(2) The student completes credits within the required flexible academic system and meets the requirements for degree award, granting a Bachelor of Science degree.
3. Graduation Requirements
The total credit for graduating is 164 credits, including 98 credits for required courses (38 credits for basic public platform courses, 35 credits for basic academic platform courses, and 25 credits for professional basic platform courses); 44 credits for elective courses (36 credits for professional electives, public elective courses 8 Credits); Concentrated Practical Teaching Links 22 credits (of which 7 credits for "Special Credits" ).
