A few days ago, the Ministry of science and technology announced the notice of the general office of the Ministry of science and technology on organizing to fill in the implementation plan for the construction and operation of the national field scientific observation and research station. Relying on the construction of our university, the national field scientific observation and research station of forest ecosystem in Dabie Mountain in Henan Province (referred to as the Dabie Mountain National station for short) was selected into the list of national field stations.

The main observation and research sites of Dabieshan national station are located in Jigongshan National Nature Reserve. The radiation observation and research sites are located in Henan Dabieshan National Nature Reserve, LIANKANGSHAN National Nature Reserve, Dongzhai bird National Nature Reserve, Huangbaishan forest farm and Nanwan experimental forest farm. So far, Dabieshan national station is the first national level field scientific observation and research station relying on Henan Province, which is a major breakthrough in the direction of establishing the national science and technology innovation base in our province.

Taking the evergreen deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest ecosystem and its watershed in Dabie Mountains as the research object, through the cross integration of geography and ecology, and with the help of the technical advantages of field control experiment and satellite / UAV remote sensing ground survey of "space sky earth" three-dimensional synchronous observation and research, the station focuses on the structure and function of forest ecosystem and its response and feedback to environmental evolution It will provide scientific support for the restoration of forest ecosystem structure and function as well as the sustainable development of regional social economy. The key research directions include: restoration and reconstruction of degraded evergreen deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest, protection of forest ecosystem biodiversity and optimal utilization of biological resources, species diffusion dynamics in vegetation ecotone of Dabie Mountains under the background of global change, spatiotemporal differentiation of watershed eco geographical characteristics and sustainable development of social economy, etc.

Taking advantage of the interdisciplinary advantages of "geography" and "ecology", the station aims to build the interdisciplinary leadership with the Dabie Mountains as the center and the ability to solve major scientific problems across regions. It strives to continuously meet the disciplinary and strategic needs of regional ecosystem service optimization, social and economic sustainable development and ecological civilization construction, and finally develops into China's geography and ecology center It is the academic highland of discipline innovation and development, the highland of excellent talent training, the demonstration base of innovative scientific and technological achievements and the national popular science education base.
